Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Not Such An Innocent Girl

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Not Such An Innocent Girl – Victoria Beckham

She was one of the Spice Girls and she also has a huge fashion empire but there was a time when Victoria Beckham had a solo music career. Not Such An Innocent Girl was released on the 17th September 2001, it was written by Steve Kipner and Andrew Frampton and released under the record label of Virgin.

The single was lead track from her self titled debut solo album that was released in October of the same year. Not Such An Innocent Girl was up against some strong competition in the release week as it was up against Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head. The track went in at number 6 and sold 35,000 units in the first week as well.

The single did relatively well in the charts worldwide and went into the top twenty in Belgium (14), Netherlands (17) and Spain (15).

I remember this song vaguely and thought it was OK but when the single before this one was Out Of Your Mind which was really catchy it sort of personally for me felt a bit out of place.
