- Miguel Arteta directed both the first and last episode of the show.
- Niecy Nash originally auditioned for the role of Dawn, but reading the script she was more interested on Didi, and asked to audition for that role. There was an initial resistance from the producers, but they finally let her do it and loved her so much that they cast her for Didi.
- U.S. take on the dark British comedy of the same name, created by Jo Brand.
