Whenever I go abroad I make sure that I print a good handful of my pictures on my return so I can scrapbook them. I sort of accidentally fell into doing this activity and since that first day I have fell in love with it. It is such a great way to display your memories and it can also be a more personal way to show them as well. So over the next few weeks I am going to give you a few top tips on how to start scrapbooking your travels. Today we look at materials to decorate etc.

Know Where To Shop
There is no right or wrong places to find decorations for your book but a few I recommend are Paperchase, The Works and Hobby Craft. They all vary in price but you can get scrapbook decorations for as little as 50. Think wisely about what you buy as you may want to keep refilling that particular item.
Think About Materials
Stickers, gems, card, wooden letters etc nothing is off limits, let your imagination go wild! However, the thicker the decorations the harder your book will be to shut. The only material I would say to avoid is glitter. I used it once and it made such a mess and everytime you open the book you are covered in glitter.
Think about Sticking
From experience, there are a few ways I would stick down photographs. From craft shops you can get photo corners and photo backs that stick pictures really well in place. I wouldn’t recommend glue because photos will come undone over time. Glue is great to use for the tickets or paper like things but for photos it just isn’t great.
