Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Colourblind

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely. Well, we wanted an article to remember these tracks – whether they were huge hits or ones that are completely forgotten about, every Friday we want to relive the moments these songs came into our lives!

Colourblind – Darius

There was a time in the early noughties when this particular individual was made popular because of his auditions in reality music TV show Popstars – from that audition a lot of people thought that would be the end of him but he returned to the screens in Pop Idol and did really well and even got to the finals. While he may not of won, he did get a music career out of it and today we look at Darius’ song Colourblind.

Colourblind was the debut single from Darius and was released the 29th July 2002. It was written by Darius Campbell-Danesh, Pete Glenister and Deni Lew and was produced by Steve Lilly White. It was released under the record label of Mercury and taken off of the album Dive In.

When the song was released it became an instant hit and went straight into the UK Charts at number 1. It sold 325,000 copies and stayed at the top of the charts for 2 weeks.

I always thought this song was ok, it had a really interesting acoustic intro which made it a charm to listen to. I always thought it was clever how the lyrics managed to use so many different colours as metaphors.
