Welcome to a brand new Feature on the Phoenix Remix! One thing we really enjoy writing about is Travel and we have decided to expand on the writing we are doing about the topic! Whilst we are still keeping in the tradition of making our Tuesday Lunchtime articles inspired by a book it is also going to welcome Travel Tuesdays!
I have lived in London the majority of my life and it is a city that I have always been fascinated by because it doesn’t matter how many time you visit, you see something new.
Our brand new article is inspired by questions from a book called London Journal by Paperchase and each week we will look at different areas and topics about London! So, I hope you enjoy and lets kick things off!
London Quote of the Week

This Weeks Topic: Favourite Nature Spots
In any big city it is always important to know or have your favourite places that you can escape to for nature and a quiet place. In London, even though it is a capital city, there are so many places that you can visit which means that we are very lucky to be within walking distance of many parks and a short journey away from the suburbs. So today I am going to talk about just a handful of places that I really like to visit to escape the rush of the city.
The Wetlands Centre
I have only been here a few times but I really like the Wetlands centre in Putney and it is the furthest you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a nature reserve for birds and animals and it is a great little day out. The more you walk into the sanctuary the further you get from the city feel and more engaged with nature as there are hideouts to see animals and lots of tall reeds and grass. It is a really relaxing place to visit and it may be a bit pricey to enter but worth it as goes towards a good cause.
There are many many parks in London that have fantastic green space but out of all of them I would say that Hyde Park is one of my favourites. I love how vast Hyde Park is and also how there are so many areas that you can go to that are different from one part to another. My favourite are is by the water however the part that is away from the pedalos as is it more quiet and relaxed. There are some lovely ares of the park and if you want a big walk then walk the whole thing as it is huge!
Holland Park is a place that I would go to a lot with my friend as it was a great place to relax in the warm weather. There are some lovely woodland areas as well as a really nice Japanese garden with a lovely pond and waterfall. It is not one of the biggest parks but it is one with a lot of character. Another thing that is great about Holland Park is that there is a peacock which is always great to look out for.
