There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.
So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.
Bom Bom – Sam And The Womp
For todays song we are heading back to 2012 and a song that was really catchy that when you hear it, you got it stuck in your head for absolutely ages.
Bom Bom was released by British Dutch three piece group called Sam and The Womp. The song was the debut single by the band and was released as a digital download on the 19th August 2012. The song can be defined as the genre of House Nu Jazz and was released under the record label of Stiff.
In it’s first week of release in the UK it sold 107,461 copies and went in at number 1 in the charts. It also did really well in other countries as well and went into the top 20 in Australia, Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, Ireland and Austria.
The song you may recognise from the media as it has been used in the television shows Elementary, Geordie Shore, games such as The Sims 3 and films such as Holmes and Watson.
When I first heard this song, I didn’t like it, I found it too busy and too many changes throughout musically. However, the more I heard it the more I started to like the song.
