Taste of States – This Week – Lobster Claw Bloody Mary

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

THE LOBSTER CLAW BLOODY MARY

America is known for lots of unusual food and drinks, but I think this one is up there for one of the most unique. that I’ve come across. Did you know that New Year’s Day is also National Bloody Mary day? No, I didn’t either but apparently it is and this led to this very special concoction by the Brand Red Lobster.

By the end of 2019 Red Lobster introduced a brand new version of Bloody Mary to their menu. The Lobster Claw, Bloody Mary is the name of the cocktail and it was Tito vodka and Bloody Mary mix. The glass is rimmed with spicy Chipotle BBQ seasoning and garnished with a lime wedge and green olive. it’s is also topped with a Maine Lobster Claw, a jumbo shrimp and a cheddar bay biscuit.

The Lobster Claw Bloody Mary was available for a limited time between the 30th of December to the second of February if you wanted to buy one of these cocktails you would have to pay $12 99.

From reading the reviews there were mixed reactions to the drink whilst the drink tasted nice people were confused by the additions especially the biscuit some people found the lobster tail far too big for the drink and that it overpowered the flavor of the shrimp.
