Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Calendar Girl

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Calendar Girl – The Noise Next Door

Now firstly do not be confused today we are not talking about the improv troupe instead we are talking about a three piece boy band that came before them. The Noise Next Door was a boyband that was made up of triplets Craig, Scott and Ed.

There isn’t much about this songs background because the band were not around for that long but this was the follow up track to their debut single Lock Up Your Daughters which was the A-Side to the Ministry of Mayhem theme tune that was part of the CITV children’s show.

The single Calendar Girl reached number 11 in the UK charts. The band was discovered by a songwriter who worked with acts such as Busted and Blue and from watching the music video now, I can see why they were signed as their sound can be compared to Busted.

Watching it now, the song has a real Busted sound to it and focusses on guitars a lot of the music. All of the band members sing parts of the song. It is an ok song but personally I don’t feel it would of stood out from the crowd of the many boybands around at the time of the early noughties.
