Today, we are talking to Yiannis who has released a new film podcast whilst being stuck in lockdown, however this is not your average movie related audio – it comes with a twist

Hello there tell us a little bit about yourself!

Hi, I’m Yiannis Cove, a writer and producer, as well as an improviser with the All-Asian improv troupe Comediasians.

Tell us all about the project that you are bringing to the online world at the moment?

I’ve made a podcast called “Everyone’s a Critic”, where I take a movie that has a bad rating on Rotten Tomatoes and have a guest come on to tell us why the critics got it wrong!

What times does it run throughout the day?

Whenever you want – the power of podcasting! But new episodes are released at 9am each Monday.

How much does it cost, what platform etc?

It’s free! You can listen to it on all major streaming platforms such as iTunes and Spotify.

How was the project formed?

I’ve been wanting to do a podcast for a while that fit my two loves of comedy and movies. Then with the lockdown I decided to dive in and try it.

How has it been going so far?

It’s very early on – I’ve only released three episodes so far but the feedback was great! People seemed to love the premise and find the podcast funny and informative.

With everything happening in the world at the moment, why is it so important to have activities like yours available?

It keeps me focused on something creative. I’ve had to pick up new skills and learn how to use audio software for the first time ever. It also allows me to connect with some great people in conversations.

What can people expect over the next few weeks from your project?

More badly rated movies! I don’t want to spoil anything but I’ve recorded 5 episodes so far and some of the movies the guests picked are WILD!
