Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
SAUCED AND LOADED FRIES
Today, we are looking at a dish that was part of the menu at a fast food chain Jack In The Box. The restaurant chain was founded in 1951 in California and since then it has increased to 2,200 locations, predominant on the West Coast of North America.
At the end of 2018 they announced that they were releasing a new product called Sauced and Loaded. The item was released as a winter warmer and to sort of act like a comfort food for that time of year.
Sauced and Loaded are French Fries with a difference. The fries are topped with toppings such as Cheese, bacon and Chilli. There are two varieties – Triple Cheese and Bacon Sauced Curly Fries and Chilli Cheese Sauced Curly Fries.
The Cheese and Bacon version has three different cheeses which are yellow cheese sauce, white cheese and shredded cheddar. It is then piled high with bacon and finished off with a drizzle of sour cream. The Chili Cheese is full of Chilli and then mixed with melted cheddar cheese.
You could purchase these fries for $3 and were available for a limited time which was approximately 7 weeks.
