Welcome to a brand new feature that is going to run for this month – this April we are going to celebrate the world of Books! The last few weeks and months we have all been part of a weird world to say the least so this month we thought it would be nice to talk about something that allows you to escape even if it just for a chapter at a time. So this month we are taking on the 30 Day Book Challenge and looking at a different topic each day, enjoy!
Day 30: Your Favourite Book Of All Time
NAME OF BOOK: The Dying Detective, Arthur Conan Doyle
It has been a fun month writing about different books for different topics everyday but now, April has come to an end and here is the last topic of the month. I found that this is the hardest one to write about and there were so many that I could on included. As you have probably guessed from this list, I really enjoy Sherlock Holmes and since reading it for the first time in 2016 I have ended up finding it a really great part of English literature and for this topic I wanted to add a short story that amazed me when I read it. Now I should state that I cannot stand short stories so the fact that this is taking the title of best book / read that is really telling you something.
The Dying Detective is a fantastic short story and if you read any of the mini tales of Arthur Conan Doyle you have to add this to your list as a must. It had a great twist and it has such a packed storyline for a quick read.
I really don’t want to ruin the the story so I am not going to say a lot. The one thing I will say is that when BBC Sherlock announced they were doing an episode called The Lying Detective I was so excited to see what they would do. Whilst a lot of people I know had mixed reviews about this episode – I loved it so much. It was so interesting to see how they adapted it to modern times.
