Media Madness – This Week – Podcasts

Due to the popularity of Question Roulette the past few years, I thought it was time to jump to another book with lots of questions. This time the book is called Music Madness Mayhem – the book covers everything from film, television, music, and much more! So every week we will be covering questions from the book until we run out! I am not going to number them this time as I am going to be doing the book in a random order!

Topic of the week – Podcasts

I really enjoy listening to podcasts and they are great to usually listen to when you are on a commute to and from work. I try and listen to as many as I can but you will always end up having your favourites. Well, today we will have a look at some of these.

Listen to:

Off Menu

I have been listening to this show from day one, the main reason is because it featured James Acaster and Ed Gamble who I really like. The second reason was that they used to host a Youtube show called Just Desserts which was so good when I heard they were doing a food podcast I was excited. I really like the banter between these two comedians and they are so opposite that is works so well. Each episode they have a special celebrity guest to interview them as they discuss what their dream meal would be. There have been some really fun guests and hilarious episodes. The genie character that James has created is bizarre but funny and Ed balances out the crazy. Very good fun.

Episodes to Listen to – Joel Dommett, Greg Davies and Simon Thomas

Office Ladies

I love the US Office and this is such a great podcast for those who are fans. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kingsley were both on the show as Pam and Angela, in this show they look back at every episode in depth to give the audience a behind the scenes look at the show. The show is fun, interesting and a really great guide to things you may not know or help you enjoy the show even more.

Episodes to Listen to – The Pilot, The Dundees

Potterless

Harry Potter is such an iconic piece of literature in Modern Day world that coming across someone who never read it can be like a needle in a haystack. However, this podcast is fantastic – Michael has never read the Harry Potter books before so as an adult has taken the time to read it. Each episode explores a different chapter with a Huge Potter fan as a guest. The episode focusses on each of their opinions and discuss the topics throughout. It is very fun.

Episodes to Listen to: I mean they are all good, but up to you but I think its best to start from the beginning.

Dad Wrote A..

If you haven’t heard of this podcast where have you been? This comedy podcast has taken over the world and it is so funny. Jamie’s dad decided to write a porno book and they are so badly written that he decided to read them  on a podcast with Alice Levine and James Cooper. It is so funny, there are so many funny times in these podcasts that I have laughed out loud in public before – give it a listen.

Episodes to Listen to: Start from the beginning.

Need To Listen to:

Inside Conan

I love the TV show and when it was announced there was going to be a second Conan podcast but one looking at behind the scenes of the show I was excited. I heard one episode and it is really interesting but I just haven’t had a chance to listen to it properly. I like this podcast as they interview different members of the team about their jobs and what they did for the show. I have always been fascinated about behind the scenes of any production so this one really appeals.

Fake Doctors, Real Friends

The other week, Zach Braff and Donald Faison released their own podcast taking an in depth look at the show they worked on, Scrubs. I listened to one the other day and whilst not a huge Scrubs fan the first season is good though so thought would give it a listen. The first episode was an interesting listen and learnt alot about the audition process and the pilot episode. I am not sure how long I will listen to it but I will see how I go.
