Welcome to a brand new feature that is going to run for this month – this April we are going to celebrate the world of Books! The last few weeks and months we have all been part of a weird world to say the least so this month we thought it would be nice to talk about something that allows you to escape even if it just for a chapter at a time. So this month we are taking on the 30 Day Book Challenge and looking at a different topic each day, enjoy!
Day 19: Favourite Book Turned Into A Movie
NAME OF BOOK: Bridget Jones Diary, Helen Fielding
I have already mentioned Bridget Jones in this list but I want to mention it again. Out of every book that has been made into a film, I think the original Bridget Jones is the best. It has the perfect balance of comedy, romance and narration.
I have always loved this film and I have watched it so many times that I have lost count to the actual number. It is a film that is so well cast and more importantly so well acted, it is a film I just do not get bored of.
I recently re-read the first book and re-discovered just how different the book is to the film near the end. The ending in the film is far more superior then the book and I really like the fact that they have toned down the mum character in the film because in the book she is really intense that it becomes annoying.
Bridget Jones is one of those films that just makes me happy and it is sort of like a comfort blanket.
