Welcome to a brand new feature that is going to run for this month – this April we are going to celebrate the world of Books! The last few weeks and months we have all been part of a weird world to say the least so this month we thought it would be nice to talk about something that allows you to escape even if it just for a chapter at a time. So this month we are taking on the 30 Day Book Challenge and looking at a different topic each day, enjoy!
Day 14: Favourite Book Of Your Favourite Writer
NAME OF AUTHOR: The Undomestic Goddess, Sophie Kinsella
There are two books I class as my favourite by Sophie Kinsella but considering that I am using the other for a different topic I thought would go with this one. The Undomestic Goddess is the first book I read by Sophie Kinsella and it is also one of my favourites.
Samantha is a workaholic but when she makes a huge mistake at work that wrecks a partnership she goes into meltdown and gets on a train to the middle of nowhere. She ends up a house being mistaken for the new housekeeper and she gets the job. She ends up staying as the house for a while and then along the way there is comedy and romance along the way too.
It is a charming book, well written and delightful story that creates joy along the way. I really like the way the story is told and I really enjoyed it the first time and when I read it, it was not what I was expecting.
I think that is the good thing about Sophie Kinsella books they bring a sense of escapism and fun. They have a perfect balance of comedy to it and it really is a fun read. There are so many great sections of this book, her adapting to new life is hilarious and the bits with the garden spring into mind as well, if you want a book that is a really good rom com, then read it.
