Forgotten Songs! – This Week -Return The Favour

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Return The Favour – Keri Hilson feat Timbaland

There was a time when Timbaland produced songs were absolutely everywhere and this is one of those tracks. Return The Favour was released on the 7th October 2008 and was under the record labels of Mosley and Zone 4. The song was the second music collaboration between Timbaland and Keri Hilson, the first was The Way I Are which was a worldwide success. The song Return The Favour was a song that came after The Way I Are and the aim was to create a track that had just as big as a success as this song.

Return The Favour is an Electro-Dance pop song which focusses heavily on futuristic sounds. Whilst it still has own unique sound it very much has the stylings and themes of a Timbaland produced track.

The song charted in a number of different countries being the most successful in the UK where it reached number 7. It also went into the top 30’s in Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and the Australian Urban Charts.

I always liked this song, whilst it very much followed the stylings of a lot of Timbaland’s songs, I really enjoyed how different it sounded to a lot of the other tracks of his that were out at this time. The music melodies that intertwine throughout the track creates an unusual and addictive music creation that was very different at the time
