Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
KFC’s CHICKEN AND DONUTS
We know that America is famous for it’s Fast Food being extreme and really fattening at times – well KFC released and rolled out to chains this brand new product that some have seen as controversial.
The Chicken And Donut Sandwich is exactly what it says on the tin – KFC’s classic fried Chicken surrounded by two glazed donuts. The delicacy was originally trialed and tested out in September last year in places such as Chester, Virginia.
There are a couple of different options available on the KFC menu – the Chicken and Donut Sandwich is available as a combo meal for $7.99 and also there is a three piece chicken tender basket with a donut available for $5.49.
I was looking for reviews online to get an idea of how it tastes and Business Insider gives a really good account. They discuss that when you first get you sandwich it is too hot to eat initially as both the donuts and the chicken have just been fried. The article goes on to discuss that whilst you receive a huge scent of sweetness, they actually compliment each other in flavour. The donuts give the chicken a honey like flavour.
Whilst this has had a positive response online it is important to highlight that it is a very calorific meal.
