Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
IHOP CEREAL PANCAKES
If you ever go to America or watch American Television you will hear IHop mentioned ever so often and it is not surprising as this is a pancake restaurant chain that specializes in breakfast food that is found all across the United States of America.
At the beginning of March this year, iHop announced that it was set to release a line of pancakes that are topped with different cereal flavours. There are three different flavours and these are:
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pancakes – This option consists of cinnamon spread, cinnamon toast, crunch cereal with cream cheese icing mixed between pancake layers topped with whipped topping and cinnamon sugar.
- Crunch Berries Pancakes – Cap’n Crunch cereal that has berries with cereal milk mousse and blue vanilla sparkle sauce.
- Fruity Lucky Charms Pancakes – Cereal milk mousse, vanilla sauce mixed between pancakes layers topped with fruity Lucky Charms, cereal and purple whipped icing.
It is not just pancakes that have been cereal themed they have also added milkshakes as well that are the same flavour. Apparently the cereal flavoured pancakes are only available for a limited time and the aim of them is to create a Saturday morning breakfast nostalgia. There are also a smaller children’s version available as well.
