Off The Record – ALBUM FOCUS – Father Of All, Green Day

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at the new album by Green Day – Father Of All..

Meet Me On The Roof

This song has a real pop undertone to this track and it’s the piano jingle at the top that heightens it. The song still has a very Green Day style to it but it is a lot softer then their music catalogue. The lyrics are easy to learn and sing along to and it is a song that is catchy and works well after all the Single releases.

Stab You In the Heart

This song has a pure rock and roll vibe to it with a dirty undertone of raw green day style. It works really well on this new album and allows Billie Joe to extend his vocal abilities in parts of the Song. It is really catchy and allows all three members talents to shine through. The bits where it focuses souly on the drum beat are fun and addictive.

Junkies on a High

This song has a different sound to the rest of the album and focuses a lot on the bass tones of the track. It is a lot slower but the quietness of the music in the verses allow you to really listen to the lyrics. Also in the interludes the music is heavy, pungent and bold this creates a real emotion to the song and heightens the lyrics.

The one thing I really like about this song is the drum beat it is really strong and lower that makes it super effective. This song makes me like the new green day style as it both accentuates and blends the new and old styles together. Also I like the name of the song as its very different to the rest of the album and stands out as well.
