Forgotten Songs!

Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Back Here

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Back Here – BBMak

I remember this song because I am sure it used to be on a compilation cassette that I had. It wasn’t Now That’s What I Call Music, but it was something similar. I remember thinking it was ok, it was one of those songs I never went out of my way to listen to but always enjoyed when I heard it.

Back Here was the debut single British pop rock band BBMak, it was released the 16th August 1999 under the record label of Telestar productions. It was written by Mark Barry, Christian Burns, Steven McNally and Phil Thornalley.

The song only just made the top 40 in the UK and went in at number 37, however it ended up having a lot of success in the United States. It went into the Billboard Hot 100 at number 13 and even went to number on the US Adult Contemporary.

It is funny, until I started researching this song, I always thought that BBMak were American and considering that they had more popularity in America then over here that is probably the reason why I always thought this.
