There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.
So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.
I Wanna Know – Joe
Today we look at a single that was released at the end of the nineties by R&B singer Joe. The song I Wanna Know was released on the 7th November 1999, it was written by Joe, Joylon Skinner and Michele Williams. The single was part of his third studio album My Name Is Joe which was released in 2000. Apparently the song was meant to appear on the album prior to this but it had to be removed due to the record label wanting to be more involved in the creative process.
The song became a major hit in the United States of America, it went straight into number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 kept climbing the charts through 2000. It also did really well internationally as well and went into the top 10 in Canada, the UK and the top 20 in the Netherlands.
I do not remember this song as I think I was too young and I was more into boybands back then but listening to it now I can understand why it was popular. It is a really smooth style R&B song and it feels like it is one of those songs you can relax to. It has a real nineties feel to it and that isn’t a bad thing, in fact its great!
