I really enjoy the Toy Story computer games but if I remember rightly I don’t remember this one being very good. I had actually forgotten about it until I came across an article about is and it made me instantly remember it was a thing. We used to rent out games from Blockbuster when I was a kid and I have a very vague memory of playing this and I don’t remember liking it.
Toy Story Racer was released in early 2001, it was developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Activision. The aim of the game is very simple, race around different tracks and win the levels. You had the choice to play as 12 different characters from the first film including Woody, Buzz, Mr Potato Head, Bo Peep and Little Green Man.
Throughout the game there are 200 soldiers to collect and by doing so it helps you on completion of 100%. There are many different types of racing styles that you can partake in the game including a race, time trial, tournament, endurance and collection. The Playstation version had 11 race tracks to choose from including Andy’s House, a Shopping Mall and Pizza Planet.
The game received a mix of both positive and negative reviews and it was praised for being fun for all ages groups.
