Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Move It Like This

here are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.

So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Move It Like This – Baha Men

In 2002 this song was about and it was a fun get up and dance tune that made you want to bop around the room. Move It Like This was released in February, under the label of S-Curve, Capitol and EMI. It was from the Baha Men’s seventh album which was also called the same name.

There may of been many ways that you could of come across this song – firstly it was released as a single but it was also used in the film Big Fat Liar, the computer game Xtreme Beach Volleyball and at the 2002 Kids Choice Awards (I know, that one is a bit niche and may not be applicable).

The song did not chart as well as their huge hit Who Let The Dogs Out did – it’s highest position was number 11 in New Zealand, number 16 in the UK and number 13 in Canada. In other countries it charted in the 60’s or 70’s.

I always liked this song, I used to find it a real get up and jolly little song. It had a huge part vibe about it and I am sure it was played at school discos. Everytime I heard this song I just wanted to jump about and listening to it now I totally understand why.
