There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.
So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.
Never Leave You – Lumidee
Back in 2003, if you turned on a music channel this song was more then likely on it and it was on of those tracks that when you heard it, it got stuck in your head as it had a melody that was really addictive.
Never Leave You by Lumidee was released in May of 2003, it was released under the record labels of Universal and Straight Face. It became the number 1 requested song on New York radio stations – this lead to many major record labels wanting to sign deals with Dj Tedsmooth and Lumidee – this lead to Universal owning this song.
The song was re-released as a new remix with singers such as Busta Rhymes appearing on it. The song became an instant hit with a lot of its biggest popularity being in Europe where it went to number 1 in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland. It went to number 2 in the UK Charts.
Listening to it now, I am still not a fan, I always found this song annoying. I never really liked the way the lyrics are not clear and it still bugs me now, However, I can understand why it was so popular it has a really catchy rhythm and the beat is very easy to remix with others. The uh uh part gets caught in your head as well.
