The Phoenix Remix Live! – INTERVIEW – Blueberry Improv

On the 14th January, The Phoenix Remix is hosting it’s first ever live show and over the next few weeks we sit down with some of the acts that are performing at the show to find out more about them and what they have in store for the audience. Today we talk to twoprov troupe Blueberry.

New Project (5)

Hello tell us about your troupe and three unknown facts!

We are Blueberry. We do twoprov. We don’t eat Blueberries cause cannibalism is nasty. Two of these are true facts, while the other is mostly joking around.

You are performing at the first ever Phoenix Remix Live how are you feeling about it?

We are stoked! The Phoenix Remix is the go-to resource for the UK improv scene and its entrance into the world of live events is just another step towards its eventual world domination. We want to get in on the ground floor so we can get cushy retirement jobs as generals and/or admirals.

What do you have in store for the audience as part of your set?

We will bend space and time, set the world’s wrongs to rights, and reveal the true nature of reality. That, or maybe do some twoprov where we muck about and get laughs from questionably funny gags and bits.

Why did you decide to do the show?

When we heard the Phoenix Remix were doing a show we created a fake show on the same night and invited every other improv troupe in London to participate so that no one would be available and the Phoenix Remix would be forced to invite us. A lot of bridges were burnt. We have no regrets.

What are some of your favourite parts of the Phoenix Remix website and why?

We love the improv bits! Especially the bits that we do where we make outrageous claims and somehow the Phoenix Remix continues to publish them. Also we love the “Improv Community Heroes” feature, which highlight all the cool people up and down the length (and width?) of the UK who are doing great work to expand and strengthen the improv community.

It is the month of January what are your new years resolutions for your improv this year?

We want to take more risks and do more shows and go to Edinburgh and win all the big awards.

The show is also raising money for charity arts 4 dementia – why should people donate?

People should donate because it’s a really great cause! We all have people in our lives who have been affected by dementia, and Arts 4 Dementia does so much good work bringing the healing power of art to people who are really struggling. We really relish this opportunity to help raise money for a community that really needs it.

If people want to find out more about you where can they find you on social media?

We have instagram! We have facebook! We have twitter! We also have faces that you can talk to and receive pre-recorded messages that may or may not relate to Blueberry.

Our faces can be found on bodies.

Three words why people should come to Phoenix Remix Live?

Charity! Laughs! Blueberry!
