On the 14th January, The Phoenix Remix is hosting it’s first ever live show and over the next few weeks we sit down with some of the acts that are performing at the show to find out more about them and what they have in store for the audience. Today we talk to an improv troupe that are battling it out in Question Roulette Improv Battle – Comediasians.

Hello tell us about yourself and three unknown facts!

Bruce: I was a licensed sky-diver for about 6 months.

I’ve broken into an abandoned theme park and dodged security when my friends got caught.

I was in the same IT class as a CIA hacker.

Yiannis: I’m double jointed in my fingers and it seems to freak every person out

I once accidentally attended a Wyclef Jean concert that turned out to be a corporate event for Western Union

I’ve lived in 3 different continents

You are performing at the first ever Phoenix Remix Live how are you feeling about it?

Yiannis: Excited! It looks set to be a great night.

Bruce: Pumped, it’s going to be fun!

You are taking other teams on in the question Roulette improv battle. How are you feeling about it?

Yiannis: We’re confident. How are THEY feeling???

Bruce: Nuff said.

Why did you decide to do the show?

Yiannis: It’s a night for a good cause and features a lot of talented people in comedy

Bruce: Dementia is terrifying and this is a great way to make it a little less scary.

what are some of your favourite parts of the Phoenix Remix website and why?

Yiannis: In The Games Corner because it reminds me of all the random forgotten games I used to play as a kid.

Bruce: Self-interested answer I know but the Improviser interviews, where else am I going to get the dirty goss from others in the UK scene?!

how do you warm up for a Show?

Bruce: Moving about and getting loud

Yiannis: High energy games

It is the month of January. What are your new year’s resolutions for your improv this year?

Yiannis: Stop playing so close to myself and try to do more characters on stage

Bruce: Similar to Yiannis but also to take scenes slow, low-key and natural.

the show is also raising money for charity arts 4 dementia – why should people donate?

Yiannis: It’s for a great cause that will go on to help a lot of people dealing with dementia

Bruce: You get to see comedy and help out a cause, why aren’t people donating?
