Ones To Watch in 2020 – MUSIC – Albums and Tours

A new year and a new decade means that there is lots of new music just around the corner! There is already some exciting announcements that have happened and rumours about bands releasing music and tours this year so we have a look at some of the artists that are set to release music and much more in 2020.

 


ALBUMS

Green Day – Father Of All Motherf*****s

This year sees the epic return of one of Punk Rocks biggest bands – Green Day! The band are set to drop their thirteenth studio album on the 7th February this year and we can’t wait to see what it includes and if the singles Father of All and Fire, Ready, Aim are anything to go by it is going to be one album that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Also they are going on tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer later this year so prepare for an epic stadium show.

 

 

Angels and Airwaves – Rumoured album release

At the end of 2019, Tom Delonge’s badn started to release new music, Rebel Girl and Kiss & Tell. They also went on the road with a tour across America. In a recent interview with Rock Sound Tom stated that his new music is the most mature and emotional work he has ever done so it will be exciting to see what happens to this band. It is rumoured that the band will be releasing a brand new album at some point this year. There is no news yet as to if the band are heading to the UK and Europe but hopefully only time will tell.

 

 

Dustbowl Revival – Is It You, It Is Me

The Los Angeles based American roots Orchestra are set to release their brand new album Is It You, It Is Me on the 31st Janaury. The upcoming album is set to pusht he boundaries once again and be something completely unique and different. The album follows a unique style of each song being like plays that unravel verse by verse. It will defnitely be an album worth checking out on it’s release.

 

The Killers – Imploding The Mirage

The Killers announced all the way back in November of 2019 that they are releasing new music in the spring of 2020. The new album is called Imploding The Mirage and is set to run alongside a tour of the UK and Ireland that will be happening around the same time. Back in October they released a photo on their instagram account with a list on a whiteboard of potential songs that could be on the new album, so watch this space.


TOURS & SHOWS

 

Marianas Trench at Download Festival 2020

Last year saw Marianas Trench do some of their biggest shows in the UK and Europe and they all sold out and did phenominaly well. It looks like this year is only going to raise their identity in the UK as they are playing their first ever music festival and that is none other than Download. There is no news yet as to what stage they will be on but they will be performing on Sunday the 14th June at Donnington Park.

 

 Bad Religion and Alkaline Trio tour- US Tour

This year the punk rock band Bad Religion celebrate fourty years together as a group and what better way to celebrate then to tour 18 cities around the United States of America. They will be joined and co-headlining with Alkaline Trio who actually owe a lot of their music influences to the band so this will be an epic tour for them as much as for the fans. The tour kicks off in Bad Religions home town of Los Angeles on the 23rd March. There is no news yet if this is coming to the UK.

 

3oh!3 – UK Tour

Back in the early 2010’s this band were everywhere, with their addictive electronic rock style of music and their collaborations with Ke$ha and Katy Perry. Well it has been an astonishing eight years since the duo from Colorado toured these shores and now they are back. 3Oh!2 will be doing shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and of course London. I saw them live when they lasy toured here and it was one of the most high energy gigs I have been to it was so much fun – i woudl highly reccomend.

 

Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer – Hella Mega Tour

They were one of the first badns in 2019 to annoucne they were doing a huge collaboration tour and when the tickets went on sale it sold out almost instantly. The three punk rock bands are doing a few stadiums with this tour including Glasgow, London, Huddersfield and Dublin. It is set to be a tour that storms the stage and one that people will talk about for  a long time.

 

 

 

My Chemical Romace – Rumoured shows

They made their epic return to music at the end of 2019 alongside the announcements of a few shows including ones in America, Australia and Japan. There is no news yet as to whether they are returning to the UK but they keep announcing the odd shows here and there on their social medias so watch this space.
