30 Best Songs Of 2019 – Part 2

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. This year has been the year of the comeback, so many artists have returned to the music scene and have had huge hit singles in doing so. Today we have a look at the second batch in our list of greatest songs of 2019.


 

11) Boasty – Wiley, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul featuring Idris Elba

For me this is one of the most creative videos this year as the use of Motion Graphics is very clever – in January this collaboration was released under BMG. The song reached number 11 in the UK Charts and went to number 1 in the UK Indie Charts.


12) ME! – Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie

This year saw the return of Taylor Swift and this time she decided to do a duet to return to the scene with Panic! At the Discos frontman Brendan Urie. The Single Me! was released in April and was the lead single from her seventh studio album Lover. The song has won a handful of MTV awards and went to number 1 in seven different countries


13) Only The Lonley Survive – Marianas Trench 

Another band that returned this year with new music was Canadian rock band Marianas Trench and this time they went with a haunting theme. This was the first song that they dropped off the new album Phantoms.


14) Rebel Girl – Angels & Airwaves 

It has been a big year for Tom Delonge – a television show, his To The Stars Academy leading the way with new discoveries in Artificial Intelligence and the release of new music with Angels and Airwaves. This was the first song to drop and was released in April, it was also the first single from their sixth studio album.


15) Doom Days – Bastille

 

In April of this year, Bastille released the single Doom Days which was the second single off the album with the same name. The song they aimed to make very relevant to today’s society focusing on trying to find escapism’s from modern day anxieties.


16) Stay – The Score

 

This year the alternative American rock band, released a brand new EP which featured the title track Stay. The song was released in May of this year and it was one of those tracks that was played constantly on the radio. The song was all about being true to yourself and trying not to change who you are. The song has had over a million views on Youtube.


17) Shockwave  – Liam Gallagher

In June the king of Alternative Rock, Liam Gallagher returned to the spotlight with brand new music and the song Shockwave was introduced to the world. It went into the charts at number 22 that was one place lower then his debut single. The video however has done exceptionally well and is over 2 million views and growing.


18) Favourites – The S.L.P featuring Little Simz

This year really was the one where artists wanted to experiment with their music and Serge Pizzorno from Kasabian was one of those musicians who was on the forefront. This year he released his solo project called the S.L.P releasing a number of singles and an album as well. This was his debut single which featured Little Simz.


19) Teeth – 5 Seconds of Summer 

This summer the Australian pop rock band released their second single from their upcoming album as well as a song that is off the third season of the Netflix Show 13 Reasons Why. The song features the guitar playing from Tom Morello of the band Rage Against the Machine. The song went Platinum in Australia although it did not chart that high around the world. Saying that it has had over 28 million views online.


 

20) What’s It Like – You Me At Six  

This year You Me At Six returned with a brand new single that was different to their normal sound as they wanted to create a song that was a mix of their favourite genres and the new sound was unique and worked well. There is a warning on their video that it may trigger seizures for those with epilepsy so be careful.
