Hello guys tell us all about your troupe?

ComedySportz is an all action, all ages competitive comedy show where two teams go toe to toe with quick-witted gags, games, sketches and songs. Who wins? That’s up to the audience.

What is the show that you are bringing to the stage in this Festive season?

Our improvised pantomime! Every show is a different adventure crafted from the audience’s suggestions and a sprinkling of fairy dust. The audience assign the player’s roles so no one knows who they are going to play or what the pantomime is going to be about. It’s a loving pastiche of pantomimes and an alternative to the same old pantos every year. Fantastic family friendly festive fun!

Will there be a bit of festivity in your show?

There’s nothing more festive than a panto …Oh no there isn’t!

What are your favourite things about the festive season and why?

Hallmark Christmas movies. They’re awful but we can’t stop watching them. We’re going to do a show about them next year.

This time of year the venues tend to be a bit busier as well – do you find that the audience changes at all?

We get a lot of big parties booking for the shows so it can be a bit full on. The festive period is just a really lovely time for everyone to come together, get out of the cold and have a laugh. There’s quite a bit of interactivity in this show and the audience are definitely up for it at Christmas… especially if the parents have had a couple of mulled wines.

What advice would you give for people performing around the festive season – is it important to drop a Christmas related theme into it?

Themes are fun but improv is for life not just for Christmas. Oh, and prepare yourself for the work christmas-dos, they’ve been drinking since lunch.

What is the best thing about a night at your show for the audience?

You’ve never seen a pantomime like this before! It’s very silly and great fun for everyone.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

Twitter @ComedySportz_UK,
Facebook /cszmanchesteruk and instagram /cszmanchester!

What is YOUR favourite show you have done this year and why?

Performing in the ComedySportz World Championship final in Philadelphia. It was just a lot of fun to perform to an amazing crowd and to be chosen by all of the other ComedySportz teams to play the final. It’s been a great year for us a troupe and it feels like we’ve stepped up a gear.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

It’s behind you!

CHRISTMAS QUICK FIRE ROUND

For this years Christmas Quick fire I am going to give you a handful of song titles and film titles related to the season and I want you to tell me the first improv scenario that comes to your brain and what you would do with this suggestion?
