Hello guys tell us all about your troupe?
What is the show that you are bringing to the stage in this Festive season?
Our improvised pantomime! Every show is a different adventure crafted from the audience’s suggestions and a sprinkling of fairy dust. The audience assign the player’s roles so no one knows who they are going to play or what the pantomime is going to be about. It’s a loving pastiche of pantomimes and an alternative to the same old pantos every year. Fantastic family friendly festive fun!
Will there be a bit of festivity in your show?
There’s nothing more festive than a panto …Oh no there isn’t!
What are your favourite things about the festive season and why?
Hallmark Christmas movies. They’re awful but we can’t stop watching them. We’re going to do a show about them next year.
This time of year the venues tend to be a bit busier as well – do you find that the audience changes at all?
What advice would you give for people performing around the festive season – is it important to drop a Christmas related theme into it?
Themes are fun but improv is for life not just for Christmas. Oh, and prepare yourself for the work christmas-dos, they’ve been drinking since lunch.
What is the best thing about a night at your show for the audience?
If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?
What is YOUR favourite show you have done this year and why?
And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
CHRISTMAS QUICK FIRE ROUND
For this years Christmas Quick fire I am going to give you a handful of song titles and film titles related to the season and I want you to tell me the first improv scenario that comes to your brain and what you would do with this suggestion?
Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer
(Suggestion inspired by this 1959 song)
The other reindeer host an intervention for Rudolf and help him overcome his alcoholism.
Deck The Halls
(Suggestion inspired by this 2006 film)
Christmas with Ant and Dec at university. And hilarious consequences!
Nativity!
(Suggestion inspired by this 2009 film)
Joseph and Mary leaving a tripadvisor review. “Had to share a manger with a donkey. No wi-fi. One star.”
Santa Baby
(Suggestion inspired by this 1963 song)
Santa. But a baby.
All I want For Christmas Is You
(Suggestion inspired by this 1994 song)
It’s a justification game where the players keep changing who they want for Christmas.
Christmas Break In
(Suggestion inspired by this 2018 film)
Santa gets arrested breaking into a house and the cops don’t believe it’s the real Santa.
Christmas With A view
(Suggestion inspired by this 2018 film)
A couple go to Lapland to see the northern lights but the hotel have ripped them off.
(Suggestion inspired by this 1996 film)
Santa has a mid-life crisis.
Star Wars Holiday
(Suggestion inspired by this 1978 film)
Not sure what the scene was but it definitely ends with Sean just ranting about how the Star Wars Holiday Special is actually good because it gave us the first appearance of Boba Fett.
