Three years ago I bought a book in Tampa which is meant to be a great for creative like minds and for the past three years I have made it my New Years Resolution to complete it. The book is called 642 Things To Write About by The San Francisco Writers Grotto. I never got round to writing many of them so what’s a better way then getting through them then writing a few as an article each week! Enjoy.
580. Open with a bad joke
I walked into a freezer the other day and the reception by the food was ice cold.
581. Storyboard a comic
I already did this when I was in university, it was about Orvil the Orange Ostrich and friends
582. Write a love letter to the one who got away
…….Do i have to? No? Great then I won’t
583. Write a story from the point of view of a homeless person who falls asleep on the bus and accidentally ends up on the ‘other side of town’ in a quiet neighborhood late at night.
I love sleeping on buses, they keep me warm, snug and I am so used to the motion that it is relaxing. Although today I woke up in the other neighbourhood. I always heard this is where the rich people live and it looks lovely and so clean and quiet at this time of night, I wonder if i can find a place here to camp out.
584. Rewrite the above story from the point of view of a wealthy stockbroker who ends up in the poorest part of town.
I need to get out of here and fast – I don’t want to be robbed.
