Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
BURGER KING – BACON SUNDAE
Everybody loves bacon! Well, most people love bacon and in America there is always a new invention to try and bring more bacon to the people! In the summer of 2012, Burger King introduced a limited edition menu on that list was non other then the bacon ice cream sundae.
To buy one of these sundaes it would cost $2.49 and was available across the states. The bacon sundae was made of vanilla soft serve ice cream that is then topped with chocolate fudge and caramel syrup, it was then finished off with crumbles of bacon and also a strip of the meat that you could use as a spoon. Apparently the sundae was a whopping 510 calories, so it is not one that you would eat on a diet.
There was a lot of mixed reviews of Burger Kings version of this specialty – some found that the saltiness of the meat over took the rest of the flavour of the ice cream. A lot of people were disappointed with the taste as it didn’t live up to expectations. Some reviewers enjoyed it because they felt like it tasted nice even though it was sort of like a salty ice cream.
Would you of eaten this ice cream?
