Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
CHICKEN RINGS – WHITE CASTLE
Today we look at an item that is part of the side order menu at White Castle. Chicken Rings can be bought on the menu – they are made of white ‘meat chicken’ and are covered in a crispy outer layer. You can buy the Chicken Rings in a number of different portion sizes including 3,6,9,12 or even 20 pieces.
From researching this product, I cam across a really interesting article from July of this year where White Castle announced that they were running a sweepstake where you could win a $5,000 diamond ring that is ironically shaped like a Chicken Ring that you could use to propose to your loved one. The competition closes at the end of this month. Everyone that buys a Chicken Ring through their Summer Savings get automatically entered in the prize draw.
The Chicken Rings apparently taste OK but they have a lot of grams of fat, so be warned.
