If you want a quaint little town to visit for a day out from London then there is a place called Leighton Buzzard which is 40 minutes train journey from Euston. Leighton Buzzard is located in Bedfordshire near Luton and Milton Keynes which has a population of approximately 37,000. The town is popular for its light railway which is a little steam train that was built after the first world war to serve the quarries and now it is a fun little tourist attraction.
The town is twinned with Coulomnies in France and Titisee-Neustadt in Germany. The town is filled with lots of history and has buildings such as a church dating back to 1277. Underneath the town there is a network of historic tunnels that apparently date back to Medieval times.
If you are looking for a nice town full of shops then this is a great place to visit. The town also has a Canal that is called the Grand Union which is home to lots of lovely walks, Along the walks you will see canal boats and there will also be places you can rent them for holidays. There Is an annual Canal Festival as well.
