Off The Record – ALBUM FOCUS – Happiness Begins, The Jonas Brothers

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at the brand new album in 10 years – Happiness Begins, The Jonas Brothers

Only Human

The opening drums on this song leading into a jly little melody if electronic sounding instruments and a xylophone is very catchy and has all the signs of being a single. It is a very addictive song with a mature set of lyrics for Jonas Brothers with a very catchy melody. It has elements that feel a tad like reggae rhythm and that combined with their pop sound works really really well. Even if you are not a fan of Jonas Brothers you may actually enjoy this album

Every Single Time

This song yet again has a reggae feel to it but it has been refined to fit with the The Jonas style. The opening oh yeah had essences of a Jason Derulo song and throughout there are elements of other bands that sound similar. This is a nice chilled out track and a fun one to listen to. Again the electric sound takes the lead role here but don’t let that out you off.

Don’t Throw It Away

It wouldn’t be a Jonas Brothers album without a song that sounds uplifting. This song opens with a predominant drum beat and a chorus that is sort of choral but works with the ideology of breaking up. The music element that makes this song is the little jingle that happens throughout.

Happy When I’m Sad

This song opens with a very bass like sound and it builds up to a more jolly style of sound with sort of bittersweet lyrics. It is a pure pop style song but there is nothing wrong with that it sort of feels like they are remembering their original musical roots.
