Games That Time Forgot – Wayne’s World, Sega Megadrive

It is not unusual for game to be based on a film or a television show and today we look at a game that was based on a film where the characters actually originally came from a television show, SNL to be precise – welcome to the world of Wayne’s World.

Wayne’s World was released on the Sega Megadrive in 1993, it was developed by Grey Matter Inc and published by THQ. The game was an action game where it is based on the  narrative of the film. In the game you had to play as Wayne and travel through the world to complete certain goals.

Throughout the game you can only fight off bad guys with a kick. In other versions of the game made for different platforms you have the chance to play as Garth as well.

There were mixed reviews of the game however some said that whilst it was a typical style game it was good fun.

  1. Gosh, this post brings back so many memories. I remember playing Batman Returns on the mega drive when I was a kid and I don’t know if you’ve heard of Cosmic Spacehead but I had that too, loved them both.
