The Travel Book – American Diaries Special – Top of The Rock Observation Deck, NYC

Over the next month we are discussing my travels in America when I lived in NYC for three months. So, I will be discussing in some of these Travel Book articles some of the places I visited starting with the Top of The Rock in NYC.

Now, if you go to New York you automatically go to the Empire State to see the view of the city, however there is another place that is cheaper and, personally i preferred the view from because it has the Empire State in it and that is what I loved about it.

The Top of the Rock isn’t just spread on one level instead it is based across three different floors which allows you to see the view in different perspectives. The viewing points are on the 67th, 69th and 70th floors. The great thing about the Top of the Rock is that there are some interactive installations as well which makes the experience more immersive.

The Breezeway is a room that you walk into that is filled with a lot of LED lights that when you enter the door you are assigned a colour and then it follows you around the room. Another interactive experience you can be a part of is the Beam Walk – you can get your chance to walk across an interactive version of the famous construction beam to experience what it was like.

I really recommend going to the Top of the Rock when you are in New York as on a good day the views are phenomenal. It really is one of the best ways to see NYC and trust me you will not be disappointed.
