Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

Back in 2012, the food chain Pizza Hut took the pizza and took it to a whole another level and released an item called Overstuffed Pizza. The initial look of the pizza looks like a sort of Calzone but it is sort of different entirely.

Ok, well it isn’t that different it sort of IS like a big Calzone but instead it is pizza bases stuck together with lots of fillings inside.  There were a couple of flavours that were available to the public – one of them was the Italian Meat Trio which was Pepperoni with two types of sausage and the other was the Supremo. The Supremo was Italia sausage, onion, peppers and mushrooms. The top pizza base is then sprinkled with lots of parmesan cheese as well.

The Overstuffed pizza was $12.99 – $16.99 to buy in the store and is approx 14 inches in diameter that is cut into six pieces. There was a variety of reviews in regards to the Overstuffed Pizza and some people commented on the fact that whilst there is so much cheese that oozes out, there is not a lot of sauce. The outside is apparently crispy like a pretzel and covered with a lot of herbs as well as parmesan and butter. There was also comments that the bottom is doughy.  From reviews I get the impression that it is an ok pizza but not life changing.
