Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
KFC FRIED CHICKEN FIRELOGS
Now normally, I would only write about food fads that people eat as snacks or fast food in America but this caught my eye and I felt I had to include this as an article as it is so bizarre. This year, just before Christmas KFC teamed up with Enviro-log to create a fire log that smells exactly like KFC.
For $19 you could buy logs that are made up 100% recycled materials that smell exactly like the 11 Herbs and Spices when it is lit up in the fire. The logs burn for up to three hours and is apparently meant to make a new Christmas tradition for some.
The firelogs sold out pretty much straight away and people ordering were only allowed to order one in an order. The warnings of the firelog was that the smell of the fire log will make you crave KFC, which in some ways if you think about it, that’s is a very good marketing tool.
