If you are heading to Central London anytime soon and you want to visit somewhere that is hidden and also the home of some of the best street art that you will see in the Capital, then you need to go to Waterloo and visit the Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel.
The tunnel which is underneath Waterloo train station (find directions to The Vault Theatre and you will find it) is a celebration of urban art and the best thing about it is that it is constantly changing all the time.
The tunnel has been around since 2008 and has been praised for bringing a new lease of life to London that is not usually seen. Whenever you go there you will always see a number of different graffiti artists spraying new creations and bringing new ideas to life.
There is also a new lease of life happening in the tunnels as new shops and cafes are opening on a regular basis bringing this area a fresh new vibe. I would always recommend going with someone as it can be a bit nerve-wracking and intimidating going on your own. However I do suggest you and a buddy should visit it.
I love this tunnel, I always go with someone but I always want to visit it as the artwork is fascinating and really creative. The one thing that will always get you is how do the artists paint on the ceiling?
