Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food. Over the next few weeks with the run up to Christmas, we thought we would do a special edition for this article as there are so much fun things to talk about at this time of year!
WHITE CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT PRINGLES
Back in 2012 Pringles decided to go festive and release a very unusual Christmas flavour for the holidays. They were a limited edition and were meant to taste like white chocolate and peppermint. You were able to purchase a tub of this flavour for as little at $1.62 from Target.
They were released with two other flavours as a special edition – the other two were Cinnamon and Sugar and Pumpkin Pie Spice. The White Chocolate Peppermint were advertised as:
The classic holiday blend of cool peppermint and smooth white chocolate flavours to deliver a unique crisp combination.
The crisp were welcomed with negative reviews because of the flavours. One reviewer stated that as soon as the Pringle hits your mouth you taste the mint and then you do not receive the sweet part. They also state that is was a weird combination and tasted like toothpaste.
