Let’s Talk About…. Fear

This month we are talking about a different topic every day to sort of bring you variety and to maybe even start a discussion at the end of each article. All the topics have been researched and been taken off of other 30 day challenges

lets talk

I hate to say it but we live in a world full of fear, there is so many things that can cause fear in this day and age and its really sad just thinking about it. So instead of taking the really in depth look at this topic as other would I am instead going to take a more light hearted approach and focus on the lighter side of fear and what of little things in life cause me fear.

I am not a fan of the dark – I love things like stars but when it is pitch black and you cannot see anything that is when I freak out a little bit. I used to love going down the flumes at the local swimming pool but when they had a renovation and turned the slide into a tunnel that was a shark i wasn’t that sure. The thing that freaks me out the most in the dark is loud noises and this was a ride that now roared when you went into it. I went in the slide and played the press the button game which made the shark roar, but had my fingers in my ears the whole way down.

I love rollercoasters as well and when the Saw rollercoaster went to Thorpe Park I wanted to go on it even though i hate horror / gore films and obviously loud noises. I went on it, and the first part of the ride is in the dark with noises and has a lot of upside down twists and turns. Everytime I have been on that ride my hands have been in my ears and my eyes tightly shut (don’t try that at home kids) I must be the only person that stupid to put hands over my ears on a rollercoaster going upside down but I hate the dark and noises it freaks me out.

I don’t know what it is but I think it is the fact that you don’t know what is lurking in the dark and that freaks the hell out of me.

What little things in your life make you scared?
