Off The Record – ALBUM FOCUS – The Dream Walker, Angels and Airwaves

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at a band that are not just producing music but are now in the depths of trying to get us into space, writing films, comics and books all thanks to Tom Delonge. They have announced they are working on new music so lets have a look at their last album today – The Dream Walker.

This song really does define the style of music on The Dream Walker album, this was a single off the album and has a different feel to the prior albums however the intro music really makes this a magical song to listen to.

This song has a really heavy guitar intro and that is only the beginning of the magic that is set to come. This song is a really great song from Ava, it is evident with this album just how far this band has come musically. It is really melodic and the drop into the bass throughout the song is fantastic.

This song relies heavily on the drum beat and electronic sound to really emphasise the lyrics and emotion. The best thing about this song is the chorus. It has a real old school mixed with modern feel which really heightens the effect.

This song has a very nice melody to it and I suppose in some ways you could call it “pretty”. The melody that is plucked on the guitar throughout really makes this song very lovely and it feels like a romantic song. It is uplifting and feel good at the same time.

This is my personal favourite song on the album and absolutely love it. This song is part acoustic and the lyrics mould into the song into a beautiful piece of art. It is a love song and it feels like it. The bit I love in the musical structure is the light tapping that starts on the second verse. If you want to listen to one song in this album then listen to this, even if you are not a fan of Tom Delonge.
