Screen Shot 2018-08-14 at 09.05.59America are known for bizarre flavours of everything but where their most unique flavours shine is in the world of ice cream. Today we look at a flavour that I can’t even believe exists but it is a huge success in parts of the states and now I am going to introduce it to you – welcome to the world of lobster ice cream!

Back in the summer of 2017,  a flavour that has been sweeping the States. has been this ice cream. However,  there is actually a sweet shop in Maine stood forward to claim that it was the first place to come up with this invention back in 1988. Now, like everything. there is much debate and disagreement as to who actually came up with the idea but the majority of people praise Ben and Bills Chocolate Emporium.

The recipe has been tweaked over time but these days the recipe consists of vanilla ice cream and lobster meat. According to articles about Ben and Bill Chocolate Emporium, they can pack 1.5 pounds of lobster meat which is mainly claw and knuckle into every two gallon bucket of ice cream. They sell over 100 buckets a year of the ice cream as well. At the shop you have an option to have a variety of toppings however the shop reports that people tend to only pair it with different flavoured ice cream – the weirdest being liquorice ice cream to date.

According to reviews of the ice cream – it does not taste fishy at all or even of salt – instead it tastes of ice cream and you only get the lobster taste when you bite into the actual meats of lobster.
