The Simpsons have had many computer games over the years and today we look at one of the many that focus on Bart as the hero. The game was released in 1991 and was developed by Imagineering Inc and designed by David Crane, Mark Klein and Barry Marx.
The game is based around a story featuring Bart and Lisa; they go to Camp Deadly over the summer holidays that is ran by Mister Burns nephew called Ironfist Burns. The aim of the camp is to make sure that every child has as little fun as possible and to make the children suffer. The game follows Bart and Lisa trying to last the day in the camp but deciding they cannot deal with the bullies, rubbish games and everything else and decide to escape.
The game is a 2D side scrolling game for the Game Boy and it is only single player as well. Whilst you may be only be able to play as Bart Simpson, his sister Lisa is there to help you along the way – she throughs you various things such as boomerangs to defeat the enemies.
The game was one that received varied reviews that were either mixed reviews or negative with people feeling the game was inspired and in some cases a ‘train wreck’. A lot of people found the game quite dull and very basic to play. So if you are looking for a retro Simpsons game to play then there may be better ones on the market then this game.
