Forgotten Pop! – This Week – Beavis and Butt-Head

It is not everyday that you expect to put these two in the category of music stars but there was a time in the nineties when they didn’t just release an album but they also released a couple of music videos as well – yeas, today we look at the music career of Beavis and Butt-Head.

The show has a lot of references to music so in 1993 they released the album The Beavis and Butt-Head Experience which was a name tribute to Jimi Hendrix original band. The album was an array of music genres but predominantly focussed on heavy rock and metal.

The album featured original rock songs such as Nirvanas I hate Myself and Want to Die and had Beavis and Butt-Head commentary intertwined throughout it.  There is one original song on the album called Come To Butt-Head but a lot of it was not.

They did release a single however with the musician Cher which was a cover of her hit song ‘I Got You Babe’ and in the video it sees the guys with a Live Action Cher. The single reached the top 40 in the UK, Belgium, Sweden and reached number 9 in the Netherlands.

The album did so well and is known as one of the best selling comedy albums selling 1,610,000 and is double platinum as well.
