Three years ago i bought a book in Tampa which is meant to be a great for creative like minds and for the past three years I have made it my New Years Resolution to complete it. The book is called 642 Things To Write About by The San Francisco Writers Grotto. I never got round to writing many of them so what’s a better way then getting through them then writing a few as an article each week! Enjoy!

294. Write about a song

A song I have recently heard that I like is the song ‘Hail To The Victor’ by Thirty Seconds To Mars because it is quite different and has a catchy beat.

295. Describe nearly drowning

When I was a kid, i was body surfing in Cornwall and the board knocked me under the water – it was horrible, a sense of panic really kicks in as you try to make your way yo the surface without loosing air and your body muscles feel weak and you have to fight against it.

296. The thirty year lie

That life really starts at 40

297. Two dollars isn’t a lot of money, unless….

you win big in a penny arcade machine

298. Describe ascent using the most innovative, outrageous metaphors, similes, and physical descriptions you can think of.

It’s freezing cold up here but we are nearly at the shrine. The walk was steep, so steep, our leg muscles ached with pain, our bodies feel like they are about to give up and the air is getting so thin, that we now need oxygen masks. I hope when we get to the Shrine all our questions will be answered.

299. What does your sleeping, dreaming mind think in the moments before you wake up? What are its last hopes, fears, or promises to itself as the alarm goes off and it feels itself vanishing?

It depends on the sort of sleep I have had if it has ben active then the dream will be near an action point. If I have had a calm night I will not dream of anything and I will be lost in the world of nothingness.
