ARB17_MeatMountain_silo-1024x1004Today we talk about a fast food item that is so ridiculous that when I started to research it and I came across a photo of it I couldn’t actually believe my eyes and actually was shocked people ate it because it really is a mountain of meat. Before we go any further though, I think we should really look into what Arby’s actually is. This summary by Wikipedia defines exactly what it is:

Arby’s is the second-largest quick-service fast-food sandwich restaurant chain in America in terms of units with more than 3,300 restaurants system wide and third in terms of  revenue.

The Meat Mountain Sandwich is an item off of the Arbys secret menu and it is the biggest sandwich that they have ever sold.  The website sum it up as a sandwich that’s ‘stacked ridiculously high with almost all the meats.’ The sandwich does not shy away from meat – Two chicken tenders, slices of roast turkey, pit-smoked ham, corned beef, 13-hour smoked brisket, Angus steak, roast beef, and pepper bacon. There’s also cheddar and swiss cheese somewhere in there as well. According to the website from 2017 you can also add a fillet of fish to it as well.

The sandwich is a whopping $10 which may not sound that dramatic in the UK but considering food is a lot cheaper in the USA that is pretty expensive for a fast food product. The Meat Mountain also has approximately 1,275 calories. So is all that calories worth it? Over to you John.
