Off The Record – Plus 44

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the record first! Today we talk about a band that only had one album but should of had more then one as it was such a fun debut album. Today we look at Mark Hoppus and Travis Barkers venture after Blink-182 before they reformed – +44

This song has a really addictive drum beat which makes this song an absolute corker of an album track. The lyrics are really strong and the chorus is a real breath of fresh air when it drops. This really is Mark and Travis at their best and it really does create a unique and strong album track.

Little Death

This song is probably one of the most darkest on the album as it has really miserable lyrics to go with it. Now that does not mean that it is a negative thing, because it has a dark sense to the song with the lower base chords and the drum beat, it is actually a stand out track because it is very different to everything else on the record. It is catchy and one of those songs you will want to listen to over and over again.

Chapter 13

This is the last song on the album and personally one of my favourite’s and when you listen to it, you may come to the same conclusion. Firstly, it is a very very good finale track for an album. It has the big finale chorus that you expect from the final song and it sort of rounds up all the feelings and emotions of the whole record into one lovely ending. It has a great melodic guitar throughout and a fantastic drum and musical beat.

Make You Smile feat Carol Heller

This song features one of Travis Barkers good friends Carol Heller, it is a great song and it is a really sweet love song. It has a great set of lyrics, a really unusual musical structure and a lovely set of melodies intertwined together – a great song.
