John Egan is a comedian from Green Bay in Wisconsin and when he is not making audiences laugh their socks off he is trying all the new weird and wonderful food and snacks that America has to offer! We have teamed up with John to bring you on this magical and sometimes tasty food journey!
We are going to delve into the facts and origins of the food and then will have a One Take Review by John. So, ladies and gentlemen welcome to the world of TASTE OF STATES
TACO BELL NACHO FRIES
Today we look at a brand new product at Taco Bell that is becoming the headlines of various publications and John has got his hands on them – The new Nacho Fries. The fries / chips that are available now for a dollar are covered in a seasoning similar to a taco and come with a side of nacho cheese to dip in.
The fries are only available in the States for a limited time but are a bit different to normal chips as they are more chunkier and they are the first fries that the chain has ever offered. There is also a supreme option available if you pay $2.49 and with these fries they come covered in cheese, taco meat, pico de gallo and sour cream – so very extreme fries some would say!
According to a report on Fox News, customers don’t just have to have the fries on their own or as a seperate item – oh no, instead you can pay an extra 49 cents on any meal and stuff them into any item you buy off the menu – so if you feel like your burrito or taco is missing something you can stuff them right in!
You can also buy the fries as part of a $5 box which includes Doritos Locos Taco, a Cheesy Gordita Crunch and a Medium Drink.
In 2018, Taco Bell are planning to introduce 20 new items to the new value menu to compete with other fast food chains (and I am sure John will be trying a lot of them along the way!)
The fries have been met with mixed reviews – some saying that they are a dissapointment as the flavouring isn’t very strong and that it doesn’t taste Mexican. Others have praised the flavour saying that they are amazing and that their ‘life is complete’.
What does our fellow reviewer John think – well, he is on the case!
