Welcome to this Months feature! Now, January is a time when it is the start of something new and everything fresh! With that means that people are always on the lookout for new music! Well, this feature may not bring you a lot of new music but it will welcome you into my world! Music is a huge part of my life – if i am not listening to it, i am playing my guitar or keyboard or even writing a post for this site (Off The Record).

So to start off 2018 I wanted to write about a topic I love and I came across this daily challenge so I thought why not turn it into an article! So here we go! Lets start with the first in this monthly feature – Lost in Music (You probably have that song stuck in your head now its by Sister Sledge).

A Song That Makes You Happy: Angels and Airwaves – Anxiety 

There are many songs that I could of written about for today’s topic but this was the one that sprung to mind straight away. There are so many reasons why I LOVE this song and why it makes me Happy. The first is the build up – this is one thing I love about AVA is that for some songs they really take their time to build up a track gradually and musically which gives it this sort of cinematic experience.

The thing I love the most about this track is the part when the piano and the drums finally drop – i don’t think there has been a time when I have not listened to this song and smiled at this – i don’t mean in my head i mean physically – doesn’t matter where i am – on a train, at home, in the street, i will suddenly start to smile. I find the musical melody so uplifting and there is no other song really like it and that’s why i love it so much.

Anyone who has read anything on this site will know that Tom Delonge is one of my heroes and if you listen to this song it sort of sums up why – the lyrics, the melody, the chorus, the interludes it all makes perfect sense and creates a beautiful sound for the ears. And yes I am smiling like an idiot whilst I write this because I am also listening to it as well.
