On the 11th October, London based improv troupe, Punderstandably are performing their show Improv Towers, as part of the Launch Pad show at The Miller, in London Bridge. To celebrate the troupes new line up and new show of the new season, we gave them a chance to do a bit of a troupe takeover so you can meet the new line up and find a bit more about them! Today we meet James!

Hi James! Tell us about yourself!
I’m 35 and moved to London 5 years ago to follow my dream of working in retail logistics!
How did you get into improv?
I dipped my toe back into performing a couple of years ago after being inspired by the immersive theatres scene. Improv plays to my past as a deviser and I love the constant changing nature of it
What’s your favourite type of improv you have done so far?
I’m a fan of short form games but I also like playing with the form and knowing more about Harolds
Who are some of your favourite improv acts and why?
Definitely old school – Paul Merton, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie
Which comedians do you find inspiring and why?
My ultimate comedy inspiration is Victoria Wood. There were so many layers to everything she did – her comedy was like music
What advice would you give to anyone who wants to do improv?
If you want to give improv a go – just do it. Everyone is in the same boat and messing up is part of the fun.
Three words why people should see you at The Miller Launch Pad.
Almost realised execution
